Welcome to the Savo Cancer Fund's grant system!
The Savo Cancer Fund is a fund operating in connection with the Cancer Society of North Savo that distributes grants to support cancer research in the North Savo region and at the University of Eastern Finland. The grants are mainly intended for young cancer researchers who are carrying out PhD studies or have recently completed their dissertation. Applications received through the grant system are taken into consideration when deciding on grants.
The application for grants for Savo Cancer Fund's year 2025 takes place between September 1 and September 30, 2025, by 4:00 p.m. Applications sent after the grant period will not be accepted. Funds will be distributed as one or more grants up to a total of €40,000. In addition, The Savo Cancer Fund is awarding a separate research grant intended for young breast cancer researchers who are working on dissertations or have recently graduated, in the North Savo region and at the University of Eastern Finland. This grant is 4,400 euros and is a one-time memorial donation that the Savo Cancer Fund has received due to the retirement of Professor Emeritus Veli-Matti Kosma.
